If you are a member of any neighborhood chats, you must have noticed a consistent request of people in the community who are looking for good service providers.  Even with the slew of large referral service companies, homeowners are still in need of help.

The truth is that the current referral service business model is not working.  FixList was created to satisfy the gap between "Helping homeowners get good value for their dollar" and service providers "Getting a fair day's wage for a fare day's work".  Our non-profit structure is different - with our structure we typically visit your home, take pictures, get your real no pressure budget and act as an intermediary to help homeowners get competitive bid pricing. We visit the various new-build locations, speak to the workers directly and work to get before and after photos of verifiable work performed.

Other companies charge up to $85 per lead to each service provider, often sending your information to (3 to 5, or sometimes as many as 10) contractors with that same job request.  This means, if you need a carpenter, and a plumber, and a cement professional you may be answering calls and meeting contractors all week... and your repairs haven't even started.

This is why many contractors charge (3-4 Times) the labor cost just for these companies to relay your information...
Naturally, this increase is passed on in the overall costs of doing business and so homeowners pay for all the failed attempts.

In our model, we establish a complete yearly schedule for each homeowner so that contractors aren't jumping from job to job, instead
they can realize the advantages of many jobs in the same neighborhood/community becoming a trusted member.
